44 layers of clothes (2/3/2014)

hi everyone! i hope everyone is doing well and is loving the vitamin D they get every day! love it and be thankful for it, because you'll miss it when you wake up in a little town called salem, illinois. But i completed my first week! my companions name is sister huppi, like puppy but with an h. she's from utah and loves missionary work! I actually feel tall when I stand next to her because she's only about 5 feet tall! We are white washing the area (white washing (verb): both missionaries being new to an area) and so we have just been trying to find people to teach! Most of the time with visit with recent converts or less actives. Our apartment is straight from the 1970's! complete with orange/brown carpet and wood walls, it's pretty much the best thing in the world. I am completely convinced that people in Arizona are never allowed to say they are cold again. on sunday we got in the car to go to church and all of the windows were covered in ice. not snow, but ice! so yes, i allie oberfield, scraped ice off a car. it was awesome. i wear so many layers everyday to keep warm. so saying 44 layers wasn't an exaggeration! it was completely accurate. i wore 44 layers of clothes between wednesday and sunday. the 44 layers then explains why my suitcase was large enough to completely knock me over in the middle of the salt lake airport.

The members here are super nice and so excited about missionary work! they love sister missionaries, so you don't have to worry about me!

being a missionary is awesome, we study for 3 awesome hours a day, talk to awesome people and soak up eachothers awesomeness. awe$ome.

i love you all and so does jesus!

love

sister oberfield
